Neighborhood Scam Alert

Neighborhood Scam Alert

Please be aware that there are two scams currently appearing in neighborhoods.

  1. A group is claiming to be from the Department of Home Affairs.  They have documents and letterhead to support their statements.  They say they are confirming valid ID’s prior to the coming census.
  2. A group is claiming they are in the neighborhood to gather information for potential emergency assistance.  They request details about work and who is living in the residence.

Please do not be fooled as they are stealing identities and robbing homes.

There is no initiative like this from the government.

If you see well dress individuals claiming to be part of either program, please do not participate in their scam. Turn them away and contact your local authorities.

If you see anything suspicious please contact your local police department.

Thank you for doing your part in keeping the community safe.
